Christmas help?
Before I begin, please no hateful or rude answers...I'm asking this for real. Does anyone know of any way to get some money to help for Christmas presents? I'm a stay-at-home Mom and my husband has a good job but thinks presents are pointless for our kids. I have no money myself (he keeps in charge of it). I've tried applying for store credit card and was declined (I have really bad credit from a previous marriage). I really don't want my kids going without presents and I don't have a cent to my name - nor can I get any from my husband. We don't fall into the category of getting government help or anything like that - my husband does have a good job. I need like between $200 and $500 and I don't have anything to sell. Any REAL ideas? Please don't suggest getting a job - I love staying at home with my kids....and that is a REAL job!

Do you know any other mothers who might need a hand watching their kids during the busy holiday season? You could charge a small fee to watch them while they bake, wrap, shop, clean, etc. or you could even do those tasks for them for money. Thats what a lot of young mothers do around here for extra Christmas cash.

Try selling old things in good shape on Ebay, or making some crafts or something to sell on Ebay. Last Christmas, I sold some of my kids' toys they had outgrown for a little extra cash. And, yes, a stay at home mom is a real job, a 24/7 job with little time off, but the most rewarding job ever!!

yeah that is a real job staying at home and its 24/7 too.
he doesnt think presants are a good idea for the kids? what kinda man...oh never mind. hes cheap among other things.
he doesnt give you money because he likes control (the power) over you.he keeps ya broke, so you HAVE to beg and explain $5 dollars before you are 'allowed' to have it.
1) contact toys for tots or a church for toys. if you have nothing to sell and no money, you have no choice. lets see what el control freak / cheepo at xmas time thinks about a church having to provide christmas for his kids...
2) try freecycle.org, just post something once, then you can post what you need.
3) after christmas, sell stuff on ebay, that you find at yardsales or whatever. stash some money away if possible.
4) sell the control freak (hubby)... or give him away. i know you love your kids, but this man is bad news.
sorry, but its the truth. one day you shall see (because, I used to be you).

I have a daughter in the boat as you. Well two of them. They both want to stay home to raise the kids. One's boyfriend won't work, the other thinks they can't spend the money. i as the grandma am too poor to help. Believe me asking on answers for help will not get you any. You just have to get it yourself. People will give like crazy to good organizations to give out their help, but they don't trust to give it strangers like us to help our kids and you can't blame them. I wish so much i could help you and me. Call around a and pray also. Sometimes a call to the fire department helps. They try to adopt a couple families for presents. get rid of your control freak hubby.
