Is Disney World worth it? I don't like rides.?

I'll be in Orlando for about 3 days in mid-February for a convention, so I was thinking about going to Disney world, but I don't really like rides. Should I still go to Disney world, or should I skip it and save money?

I would go to Walt Disney World even if I didn't enjoy the rides. There's plenty of awesome shows, special parades, behind-the-scenes tours, and incredible fireworks displays. That's just at the theme parks, though, and Walt Disney World is an entire Resort Complex - much more than just theme parks. There's two fabulous water parks if you're into water activites. There's all sorts of water sides, lazy rivers that encircle the entire parks, and wave pools. There's Downtown Disney with a great selections of restaurants, shops, and entertainment. At Downtown Disney there's Pleasure Island (night clubs), an AMC 24-Theatre Complex, DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park, and Cirque du Soleil: La Nouba, which I highly recommend. There's Disney's Boardwalk with the ESPN Club for food and watching sports, Big River Grille & Brewing Works (restaurant/microbrewery), Jellyrolls, and the Atlantic Dance Hall. There's Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex, too. Plus, there's so much recreation. There's five Championship golf courses, two mini golf courses, Sammy Duvall's for personal watercraft rentals, parasailing, tubing, wakeboarding, and waterskiing. Near the Magic Kingdom is the Richard Petty Driving Course where you can take a class and drive a racecar. At the Tri-Circle-D Ranch & Farm you can go on an old-fashioned carriage or wagon ride, horseback riding, and there's even pony rides for kids. Also around the Resort Complex are a few spas, tennis courts, and volleyball courts. At most of the resorts there are arcades, bike rentals, guided fishing excursions, jogging trails, and marinas for boat rentals. There's over 20 different resorts on property to visit and explore.

Trust me, there's more than enough for you to do at Walt Disney World, even excluding all the rides. If you decide to go I'm sure you won't find it to be a waste of money. Unless you'd like to wait and save up more money so you can go and stay at Walt Disney World for a whole week some time.

Hope I could help! Have fun in Orlando!

This is my theory so I'm going to go on that assumption. I think you don't like rides because they make you feel sick, and thus that's the reason why. So, if that's my assumption and it's true, Disneyworld has plenty of rides that don't make you throw-up because they are of slow natured.

For instance, you can ride the Kilmarajaro (I can't spell it.) Safari at the Animal Kingdom perfectly. It's really just a car ride like your normal car that goes and sees animals. Other rides that are tame are at the Magic Kingdom such as Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, It's a Small World, Haunted Mansion, Pirate's of the Carribean (except for one drop), Jungle Cruise, and of course Snow White's Scary Adventure. These rides are stories in which the rides go very slow, and it's more watching than riding.

Now, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Dinosaur, Rockin Roller Coaster, Primieval Whirl, Tower of Terror, Mission Space, and Test Track are all more of the thrilling types of rides in which you would probably hate.

Remember, these places (Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and MGM Studios) all have shows. Some shows are live like Pochantos, Lion King, Birds Flying Around Show, Fantasmic, Parades, Little Mermaid, Indiana Jones, Beauty and the Beast, and the Car Crashing Show at MGM.

There are also non-live shows (animatronics) such as the County Bears, Hall of the Presidents, US Show in EPCOT, Universe of Energy (partial show??), and Carousel of Progress.

Don't forget about the shows in which you watch a movie screen, and there are things that happen to you. They include It's Tough to Be a Bug, Honey I Shrunk the Audience, and Phil Mar Magic. Soarin' is movie screen you watch, but the difference is that you are up in the air, and they spray some scents like oranges. It's really boring in my opinion.

Just don't go on any of those rides that I said were more thrilling if you feel like you are going to get sick easily. Otherwise, enjoy the parks. You should have a great time.

I love Disney World. Magic Kingdom is only for people who are willing to go back to to being a kid, but the other parks are really fun. You don't have to ride rides, there are tons of shows, and you can just walk around. I don't know if you like to shop, but there are a ton of those too. Just make sure you have lots of money!

It all depends on you. There are alot of really neat things to see and do besides the rides. The place is really beautiful with the buildings and landscaping. I don't like the rides either but I do

enjoy going and doing other things. It's all up to you. Why don't you see how you feel once you get to Orlando.....by the time you take care of other matters you might not even have time to go.

Have a safe trip ....it's always good to get away for a bit.

Just go. Even if you hate being around people, hate riding any type of ride or attraction, hate fireworks, hate having fun with family and friends, and hate animals I'm willing to bet Disney World will change your outlook on at least 3 of those 5 points.

I don't like rides either so I didn't enjoy Disney World but I loved Bush Gardens.

Yes, you should go. DISNEY WORLD IS MORE THAN RIDES. My 80 yr old father went to Disney about 5 yrs ago. He was reluctant at first because he thought that Disney was only for children, but after a while he was having the time of his life. Now he goes with the family every year.

Going to Disney is worth it. The only issue is that it is quite expensive and that the lines to get on the rides are long. Check out Universal Studios and Busch Gardens while you're there.

Disneyworld is an experience - the feeling there is amazing - I am not a ride person either - when I went a couple of years ago I had the time of my life - surrounded by happy faces on children and adults - I hope to live there some day!!
