Do you buy Christmas gifts for your pet?
And if you do, do you wrap it?
Do you get your pet's picture take with Santa?
I have a dog and we go give him a new toy for Christmas but we do not wrap it. He was our one and only for several years before we had kids so I feel that he deseves some special consideration as part of our family. But, why do some people wrap them? Or get the Santa pics? They are doing this at the mall now.
Our dog also gets a special meal (yummy canned food instead of the usual boring kibble) for his birthday. He doesn't understand but we feel good about it.

They are doing it at the mall here - as well as Petsmart and Petco. They are doing it during a scheduled time period so I guess they are blocking off that part of the mall.

I usually give my rabbits presents for Christmas just because they enjoy unwrapping the presents. It's a natural behavior for them to dig and shred paper. This year I'm buying my Chinchilla a new cage, but I'm sure he doesn't know why he's getting it. A dog might feel a little jealous that everyone is paying attention to their new things. A new toy might keep him occupied and out of everyone's presents.
It really depends on how you feel about it. I don't think there is any harm in buying a gift for your pet. When I was little I always had gifts for my pets and put santa hats on them.
As far as the pictures with santa go, I know a lot of places have them to raise money for charities such as the ASPCA. Petco is acutally doing one tomorrow to raise money. You get a picture with santa for a $5 donation. So not only are you getting a picture of your pet but you get to feel good about helping other animals that are not as lucky as yours are.
Have a happy holiday.

I buy my dogs toys for christmas and on their birthdays, but i don't wrap them. Dogs like to eat whatever gets in their mouths just like a baby.
I also get my dogs picture taken with Santa because my dogs are like my kids. They were clothes, take pictures, but they do eat their own kind of food.
And for you question of the mall, i don't know if they are letting pets in, but i do know petco and petsmart have days where Santa is there and plus, you can let your puppy pic out his own toy. I always try out the fetch toys before i buy them and i let them sniff out their own bones. Dogs are special, spoil them.

Yes, my pets do get Christmas presents and we do wrap them. Buddy Boy already got into his bones though. Oh well. I wrap their presents because they are my fur kids. I dont want human kids, so I gotta have fun with my pets. And yes I did take them to Petsmart for Santa pictures last Sunday. I have never had dogs until this year and my cats dont want to leave the house, so I thought it would be fun to get their pictures taken with Santa. It was only $10.

I always buy my dog presents and I do not wrap it because that just results in a huge mess. But I have no kids and it makes me feel good to do this. She's my girl. This year I bought her a little jacket so that when she is out in the snow she doesnt get sick and on her birthday I buy her a new chew toy or a bone, and I do put a bow on that because it is funny watching her try to get it off but that doesnt make a mess.

Yeah I get them presents on there birthdays and on Christmas.
I dont wrap the presents either. I bought my dog this giant bone that came up to my hip and it was in the shape of a candy cane. Very cute. I usually just buy my cats some cat nip or some toy balls. The kitties do not seem to get as excited over their presents. They tend to love the plastic sack that I get from the store more than anything else. :-)

Give your dog a chew toy, When you give a dog a toy, they know its theirs. Getting a pets pic with santa does nothing for the pet, they dont see whats in pictures. They like materialistic objects such as toys and attention. And when people wrap the dog toy, they (the owner) usually un wraps it.

I buy tons of gifts for my dogs at christmas and their favorite park is unwrapping them, we laugh so hard as they tear into the wrapping. One of my dogs just unwraps them and goes on to the next gift, doesn't even want the toy or treat, it's all about the wrapping.

Also I buy my lil bro Skyler's dog Junior(Jr.) toys and food and even little puppy sweaters.I say yeah I wrap mine too... and with a little love in the process!!

Yes, we buy our dogs gifts. No, we don't wrap them, but they have their own stockings and that's where we put them. I've never taken them for pics with Santa, but they are always included in our family pictures.

We dont get our Cats pictures with Santa, but we do wrap their gifts. My cats like to be with us on Christmas day, and they open their own gifts, so does my dog. My like to tear the paper off, and get their toy. You should try it, its the funniest thing you will ever see.
