I am going to be gone 13 days, but can only find a seven day automatic fish feeding pyramid, what should I do?

I have nine smallish fish in a 12 gallon aquarium.

Go get an automatic feeder, not those feeding blocks. Most people who have used them don't recommend them since they can really mess with your water params and people have come home to a tank full of dead fish. They also don't feed your fish that well since they either fall apart too fast and the fish eat it all within a day or 2 or it doesn't fall apart fast enough and they go without eating anyway. Set up the automatic feeder and let it run for a few days before you leave to make sure it is working correctly.

I'm not a fan of the fish pyramids as they can pollute the tank.

Having someone feed your fish is the best solution but if that can't be done get a feeder where it only gives so much food per day. Something like this: http://fishgeeks.cheappetstore.com/product_info.ph...

Source(s): This and complete information on over 2,500 other aquarium fish can be found at FishGeeks ( http://www.aquaria.info/ )

Ask a trusted friend or relative to swing by once a day to feed the fish once the auto dispenser has run out.

Buy two feeding pyramids and one automatic timer that you plug into the wall, you know...the kind that can turn your lights on and off to keep people from thinking you're away from home.

Set the first system up to start feeding when you leave. Set the second system up with the timer, set to come on seven days later. :)

Do you know anyone who you could have go in for you on the seventh day, and insert a new seven day fish-feeding pyramid? It shouldn't be too out of their way to only have to go in once.

fish can go for several days without food. Look on a trustworthy site if your fish are able to not eat for several days
