  • Help finding a birthday gift?

    Hey everyone,

My boyfriend's birthday is coming up, and I could use some help finding a gift for him. He is very outdoorsy, studying adventure education, but as far as gear goes he is pretty well set because he just completed an immersive semester, so he got everything he needed beforehand.

He is also very into primitive type things. He is the president of the schools primitive skills club.

I'm open to ideas outside of this, but my thought was finding some of tribal or native american instrument. Someone showed him their native american flute and he thought it was awesome! So I was thinking either like a flute or a djembe drum. My problem is that I have no idea where to find a reliable place to order something like this online, and I have no idea what is a reasonable price to pay.

So if you have any additional ideas or suggestions for where to find what I'm looking for I'd be grateful!

  • Birth control and antibiotics?

I just got my wisdom teeth out and got antibiotics. I am also taking yaz. I am not taking it for actual birth control, as I am not sexually active, but I wanted to know if it would maybe make me start my period at the wrong time, since it is said to interact?

  • Deciding which tattoo would work best?

I'm going to get my first tattoo soon, but I can't quite decide what would look best. I definitely want something owl related. My first thought was a tattoo of a snowy owl flying, kind of like a portrait of this:

    http://s921.photobucket.com/albums/ad57/SpottinTre...

Then I got thinking that making it look realistic might be a high risk of coming out badly, so I thought something like this:

    http://s921.photobucket.com/albums/ad57/SpottinTre...

My third thought was simply an owl feather.

So I'm looking for opinions of people who might have more tattoo experience to decide which would come out best. I plan on getting it on my shoulderblade, and I have narrowed it down to two tattoo artists, who will design the tattoo and put it on for me. And because I know someone might ask, I have seen their work and have talked to people who have gotten tattoos from them.

  • 18th birthday celebration?

I'm completely stumped on what to do for my birthday coming up. I live in a small town where we don't really have any dance clubs, and it is the middle of winter. I was going to get a tattoo, but I've postponed that till when I can actually afford it and still be able to eat...

Does anyone have ideas for something that is different than birthdays from when we were younger, that doesn't involve a lot of money? I'm really looking for something with only one or a few people.

  • Present for my boyfriend?

For valentines day I think I'm going to get my boyfriend a dog tag necklace(he is always wearing a necklace). I'm looking for something personalized that I can put both our names and when we started dating, but what I think I want is a design on the front (like some sort of chinese symbol or skull) and the names on the back. Does anybody know of a place that would have something like this?

  • 6 month dating "anniversary"?

Tomorrow will mark 6 months since me and my boyfriend started dating. To me it's not a huge thing, but my boyfriend is really into celebrating things like that. I thought maybe I could bring him over to my house and cook dinner and we could watch the movie we went to on our first date, then I would make him his favorite cookies. Any other ideas? And nothing sexual, please.

  • Is it worth going to the doctors?

I got backed into by a horse yesterday and got my pinky toe stepped on pretty badly. It's discolored and swollen, and where it usually is kinda turned out it is straight. Is it worth going to the doctors to get it checked, or is it just an extra medical bill because there isn't much they can do? Would they give me crutches so I can stop having to walk on it?

  • Birth control for period control?

Mom is scheduling an appointment for me to see the doctor because of my heavy irregular period. She said she had the same problem at my age and they put her on birth control which helped alot. So if I were to go on birth control for this, what would be the best kind? Does the patch that you only need to change once a week or so have the same effects as a pill that you take daily? Or arent there shots?

    What are my options?

  • Periods: When is it normal, and what warrants a doctor visit?

I realize that it is normal for a young girl to have an irregular period, but after having it for 2 years, shouldn't it be every month now?

I got my first period about 2 years ago, but I don't usually have it every month. I generally get it every 3 months, and then it lasts 2-3 weeks and is very heavy and makes me miserable. Sometimes its only every 1.5 months or can be 4 months in between. Should I see a doctor, or is it normal to be having periods this irregular?

  • Breast Pain and rash?

I understand that it is normal to get breast pain during your period, but what about a rash? It is only directly on the nipple, and very gross and painful. Is this normal?

  • Fundraising for the animal shelter?

The animal shelter I volunteer at just recently had an outbreak of ringworm. They have been saving for years for a new building(which is badly needed) and now all those funds need to be used to treat the animals! I thought it would help to set up a fundraiser, and being a high school student I couldn't probably get alot of publicity through the school. Any ideas for fundraisers besides the usual dog walk and bake sales?

  • "Needs front end work"?

I saw an ad for a ford taurus, which is what my mom has and I love to drive it. What exactly could this usually involve? Ive got the money for the car now, but I don't actually have my license, but if all goes well I could buy it, and later on get the work done. Is it even worth asking about?

  • Reviews for a 93 dodge spirit?

What are the general opinions on this car? I need something that is pretty cheap so I can use it to get to work, which is not too far away but too far to walk or bike, especially in cold weather. It would be a first car, and there is one with a new sticker going for 650 in the local classifieds. My thoughts were that at that price if it needs a few minor repairs I would be able to afford it, but do you think it would need more repairs than its worth?

Another option is a '94 dodge escort for 950
