What kinds of things will they check?

I'm going to the doctor today because I have been having very heavy irregular periods and mom said she had the same problem at my age and getting put on the pill helped alot. What kind of things should I expect the doctor to check?

Update:

Will they do a pap test if I'm on my period?

They will probably do a pap smear, go into your family history, maybe an urinalysis, depending on your age. They will probably discuss diet and nutrition, stress, maybe endrometrosis

yes they can still do a pap, if you are on your period, if they feel its necessary

    good luck to you

Pap smear, blood tests and they'll probably ask you a lot of questions. Maybe a urine sample.

Yeah, they probably will do a pap test, and a smear test. You could also ask your mom.
