Anyone know what causes dimples in the fingernail bed?
I have had them since I was a child. There a re also lines running up the nail. I remember someone in my past telling me that it had something to do with circulation, but so far I haven't read anything like that. I have been looking online and find that it can be caused by many things, but nothing really for sure. So....has anyone has this problem, or better yet, anyone SOLVED this problem. Sometimes they seem to be worse than others...any info would be appreciated. Maybe even ....what it is called!!! lol

Is there any chance that you also have patches of skin that are really, really rough, possibly scaly, very itchy at times?
It is possible that this is psoriasis. It won't kill you, don't worry. But if you do also have skin problems similar to what I've described above, please see your doctor and ask for a referral to a dermatologist (skin doctor).

You have a nail fungi. Along with ridges or dimples there are probably a slight discolor in the nail itself. These are usually treatable with a once a day cream applied to the nail itself. There are also pills you can take that do the same thing only faster & better, however, it's also very expensive. The cream & the pill have to be prescribed by a Doctor There are a few over the counter products but they done anything for me , ever. Hope this helps.
