Thailand's awesome, and easy to travel through as an English speaker.

I recommend you check out Lonely Planet's Thorn Tree page for great updated traveler info about Thailand.

Also, Gordon Sharpless' website is invaluable...

    www.TalesofAsia.com

I also suggest you go to Cambodia while you are in SE Asia.

Stay away from Khao San Road, it's a trap for tourists.

Go get to know the real Thailand and have a blast, it's a great place!

If u are there for shopping... i have all the places you want to go... or which hotel you should live in...

    places:

Chatuchak and Suan Lum: really really big and every thing you want there... but the problem is that its so big that you cant find what you want... and its hot and dirty...

Platinum shopping mall: the best place you should go... shop in air con comfort and also get cheap prices if u know how to haggle. i bought jeans for 500baht and shirts for 150-200 baht avg price.THE BEST PLACE TO GO.

Floating market?: takes very little time and quite interesting. you get to feed the fishes opposite the temple with bread. also, you can take a look at the surrounding villages beside the sea, and of course visit some tourist attractions around chao phraya river like wat arun...

there other places to shop but they sell really lousy stuff... so i still recommend platinum.

    Hotels:

two best choices are baiyoke sky as well as grand diamond.

remember baiyoke sky... not baiyoke suite... baiyoke sky is the tallest in thailand... 88 storeys. and Grand diamond because it is right beside platinum fashion mall... both are close to platinum fashion actually... but i would choose grand diamond.

shop till u drop in bangkok...

Have a look web belowed, you may get an idea what to do

    http://www.bangkok.com/1st-time-visitors/whattodo....

I suggest you should buy a package tour where has many different package tour at front desk at where you stay. Because it is more convenience as they provide a guide who can speak english, transportation which will pick u up and drop at the hotel. My recommended is to see city /temple tour if you haven't seen it before as it is very different and so you can see their cultural. Here is some guide

Eat out.... quick & easy & cheap...at food court most have at Big C, Robinson, Central and many more at department store around town.

Shopping.. around the city... bagain open air shop at siam square, MBK and many more. they closed late at 9:00 pm except

    Nightlife... silom, patpong very late...

If really want thai souvenirs better go to Naraipan where have all Thai products there, cheap house decoration is underground shop name is dominos nice & reasonable price.

Hope you have a good time.

I suggest, the island Koh Samui. Koh Samui, the beautiful island of the coconut trees, is the third largest Thai island. It is located 700 km south of Bangkok in the Surat Thani province. Well known beaches are Chaweng, Lamai, Bophut, Big Buddha, Choeng Mon, Hua Thanon and Maenam. Great Beaches, Shopping, Restaurants and Accomodation.

Source(s): Very dear friends have been there several times, highly recommended.

Hi, Bangkok should be tourist-friendly for you. Check out www.tourismthailand.org for information you want on the sights to visit. You can arrange local tours easily at any tour agency either at or near your hotel. You should be able to get by as quite a few Thais can understand English.

Enjoy your holiday. You can contact me at thaitourinfo@yahoo.com for more info if you like.
