Myth. My cousin is 9 years old, and my grandma gives him coffee all the time and he's already 5'3"! The doctor thinks he will be 6'8".

I assume it is the caffeine people object to, and soda and tea have caffeine, too, just less per ounce. Even chocolate has some caffeine.
Coffee, however, has no nutritional value, and the sugar and cream everyone (especially younger people) add make it high in calories. Caffeine also gives you energy without calories, so it sometimes replaced nutritious food.
Like everything else, coffee in moderation shouldn't hurt you. Unfortunately, caffeine is addictive, and the more you drink, the more you need for the buzz. It is a hard habit to kick, withdrawals come with jitters, headaches, different symptoms for different people.
If you don't already drink it, why start? It doesn't really taste good, and it doesn't offer any real benefits. It is an expensive habit that will be hard to break. It stains you teeth, and fresh coffee smells nice, but coffee breath stinks something awful.

I don't believe that is possible, but kids are pretty active as it is, I am not sure if I would give a child coffee. What age are they? I wouldn't give anyone under the age of 12 yrs old coffee, or any other power drink.

I don't believe so. I'm 6' 2" and I've been drinking coffee since I was about 4 or 5.

That's a granny tale. Caffiene simply makes kids hyper. I suppose it's from the type of people who give their kids coffee and pop are also the type to buy nothing but junk food so their kids don't get the right nutrition.

I'm sure thats a myth. BUT...if you give em coffee they'll never stop moving, thats for sure!!! Caffeine & kids...not a good mix!! lol

coffee has no effect on a kids growth.. but parents who give their kids coffee in place of other, more nutritious drinks, probably serve other junk food and this would hinder growth.
