Great songs for low vocal range?
Hello everyone! I'm guessing this question may have been asked before, but what would some wonderful songs be for a vocal range of G2 to F4 ( or G-2 to F1 depending on the system of notation?) I'm female, although I don't know if that would matter when finding something for fun.
Thanks!
Something for fun or practice, as I'd love to learn how to sing ;) I'm a newscaster, but would like to branch out a bit just for kicks.
I guess a good clarification would be "good songs for a deep contralto range." Sorry if my question wasn't too clear, as I'm a bit nervous asking it. Thanks!

What style of music? For classical, contest type solos, I would recommend a book called "Songs for Low Voice in a Comfortable Range." (That's the real title!)
For broadway, you should try to get at least one volume of "The Singer's Musical Theatre Anthology" for Alto/Belter. Some I have used that don't go very high are:
Send in the Clowns (A Little Night Music)
Always true to you in my fashion (Kiss me, Kate)
By my side (Godspell)
Good luck!

Most jazz music is actually for lower voices. Check into Ella Fitzgerald--especially her ballads. Some songs would include Easy to Love, and Laura. Also try Diana Krall--Love Letters, Cry Me A River (not the Justin Timberlake version), Besame Mucho, The Night We Called It a Day, The Look of Love, Let's Face the Music and Dance, When I Look in Your Eyes, I'll String Along with You, Pick Yourself Up, Do It Again

Anne Murray has the same range (more or less) and her entire catalogue (although some are cheesy) could be full of options for you.

Two showtune songs would be I Dreamed a Dream, from Les Mis, and I'm Not that Girl from Wicked.
