How do I stop thinking about a girl from a long time ago?
I really wish I could get this girl out of my mind and get on with life. The relationship we had was over with half a lifetime ago but I still think of her on a daily basis.
Would someone with some real training in this realm let me know what I need to do to let go... once and for all?
I loved her and I'll never forget her, but it didn't work out and that's that. Why can't I just let her become a fleeting memory?

This problem i also have.I can't forget a boy but he is not my lover or a friend.But in-between friend and lover.So i can't help u. But whenever in your mind she is coming think some other thinks.O.K?

When you get someone else in your life (as well as over time) the feelings will fade. Never go away. It took me 15 years into my marriage to finally get over my "true love" boyfriend from relationship before my current marriage.
