    Yeah, but Sandman still escaped...

I liked one a few years ago with Wolverine walking around with text boxes containing his thoughts, while watching other X-Men doing Christmassy things. Bobby saw some kids attempt to make snowmen from a meager amount of snow, and made a huge ice sculpture of Santa, sleigh and reindeer taking off. Scott and Jean gave Cable a baseball glove. Bishop saw a little girl staring in a shop window at a doll and went inside to buy it for her. Instead of thanking him she raced off, and Wolverine & Bishop both tracked her to her apartment - where she gave it to her little sister. It ended at this point with Logan thinking "I got no use for Christmas or for the season. But sometimes... I wish I did."

Another favourite of mine was "Harvey Teabiscuit's Yule Log" where a mild mannered pushover named Harvey Teabiscuit still lived with his nagging, dominating mother who complained he had no friends ("I did my part. I raised you to be friendly.") and that if his boss makes him work on Christmas then not to bother coming home, because she'll die of grief...

Then on his way to work that morning he sees Ghost Rider chasing some crooks, and Ghost Rider stares right at him.

At work that evening as his boss is telling him that there is no christmas bonus and he has to work Christmas this year, all he can think about is Ghost Rider staring at him.

When he gets out Ghost Rider is waiting for him - he came to apologise for frightening him, and wondered if he could make it up for him. Harvey just stares in shock. GR asks if his boss treats him well. Harvey just stares in shock. GR goes in to sort out the boss, who immediately mistakes him for the Ghost of Christmas Future, come to show him the error of his ways ("And I use special clocks that make the minutes go by slower. And I use special light bulbs that burn dimmer to save electricity and ruin worker's eyes.") GR leaves the office, Harvey snaps out and invites him to dinner at his house that night, GR departs, and the boss comes out to give Harvey his bonus, a raise, and time off.

Later at Harvey's the door bell rings, and his mother wonders who it could be. Harvey tells her he invited a friend over to watch the Yule Log. Pleased (and surprised) Mrs Teabiscuit goes to open the door, sees who is there, GR says Ho Ho Ho, and she screams, and Harvey finally smiles.

I also liked one about one, two years ago where a student at Xavier's (I forget his name, but X-heads will recognise him) who made organic matter decay when he touched it (he accidently killed his father and turned the body into dust) was supposed to be billetted out for Christmas, but no one wanted him - too deadly. So he has to stay at the school with Scott and Emma. Emma ends the story by telling him that her new power is to turn into diamond, which being carbon based is slightly organic. But still the hardest known natural substance. So she gives him the greatest gift that anyone can give him - while they all sit watching TV, she turns to diamond, and holds his hand.

    There's quite a few actually.

One was an old X-Men short story with Nightcrawler and a boy he met at the hospital while visiting Jean Grey.

Kurt spent most of that Christmas night with the kid until he finally revealed his true form. Instead of being scared, the boy was amazed and they became friends.

The next day when Kurt went to the hospital to see if he could find the kid again, a nurse told him that the boy had died the previous night.

There was also a pretty good Batman animated short on the Batman Animated series (The good one NOT that stupid Kids WB version).

Carl Barks wrote and drew some of the best Christmas related comics. My favorite of his Christmas stories is "Christmas for Shacktown.
