Yahoo Answers is shutting down on May 4th, 2021 (Eastern Time) and beginning April 20th, 2021 (Eastern Time) the Yahoo Answers website will be in read-only mode. There will be no changes to other Yahoo properties or services, or your Yahoo account. You can find more information about the Yahoo Answers shutdown and how to download your data on this help page.

Is there anywhere on here which gives a really clear explanation of how it all works?

I understand how to get points, but how do the different levels work? How do you rate answers, and what do the ratings mean? If asking questions takes you below a certain number do you drop a level? etc, etc.

ok,since you understand how you get points then, you get to different levels by answering questions. Each question that you answer is worth 2 pts,and when you get the best answer, yahoo will notify you that your answer was the best, and each answer you get as best answer wins you 10 pts...So you build up your points better by getting the best answer. When you get so maany points, then you go to level 2,then you have to earn so many points again before you get to level 3....there is 7 levels all togeather....you can only lose pts by getting a violation...yahoo will also e-mail you any violation also...you can click on your aviater and it will take you to your information and it will tell you how many points you need to earn in order to get to the next level.

Although you can go to the chart that explains a lot of this (click on the point total in your bio box), basically the levels mean you can do more of what it is you ar alrady doing and you can fall back a level wtih negative points
