No, don't use bleach. It would take gallons and gallons. The tank is huge!! You need the box of enzymes that you can get at Walmart... oh, what is the NAME of it... I can't find it...anyway, there's this bluish box and you flush these enzymes down the toilet, and it helps break up the, er, stuff that's in the tank.

You also might need to get your tank pumped out. It's nasty work, and I don't know why anyone would want to do it, and that's a check that I never hated to write when we lived out in the country!

RID-EX!!! I just thought of the name! Whew! Now I know I can sleep tonight...

Rid-Ex will help digest all the junk in the system. It sounds like something to get rid of an ex-boyfriend, but it's not.... LOL!!

Bleach, Vinegar etc. will kill the bacteria that makes the septic work. The laundry should not be draining into the septic. Check the vents, one could be clogged, and check all your 'P' traps, if the water is gone from even one, the smell comes into the house

where is the odor coming from?

pour water down all drains in the house to make sure there is water in the trap. dont foget the the floor drains in the basement and the garage. gasses started leaking into my basement awhile back. pouring water into the drain fixed the problem

It's been a wet year and that will make the smell as your leach bed can't drain well. If thats not the case it's time to have it pumped out

As, weird as it sounds, don't mix other scents with the sceptic one. Don't try to make it smell better.

Ever notice that sometimes smells fade away? It's not always the smell just fading. If you spend enough time (though it sounds gross) smelling it you actually won't be able to smell anything.

example: ever smell your own B.O.? didn't think so.

Your outside vent on the roof may be plugged, check it first.
