What can I do to get rid of zits quick?

I have always had pretty clear skin (I am 21) until about 3 months ago. I am away at school now and pretty stressed out, but my face routine is the same. I wash in the morning and night and use clearasil zit medicine. In September I started getting zits on my cheeks and I have never had a zit there in my life! I feel like I have actual acne now!! I am also getting constant breakouts on my chin. Why is this happening??? I am so ashamed of my skin now and I don't know what to do and what is the worst of all is that every one leaves a little redish purple scar. They are not indented, but just a redish spot where every zit was.

I had a mild chemical peel a couple weeks ago hoping that would help but now my face is just zitty and dry! PLEASE does anyone know what I can do? I can't take this, and it is just so wierd that it is happening now!

I have an acne treatment that has won me the best answer three times. Each time, the person said it worked great. I'll copy and paste it below.

Use a hot compress on it, and then use cool water to close the pores. Do the process over and over again, about five or six times. Use soap to wash the area, and then treat it with an alcohol soaked cotton ball. It should be gone within five to six hours.

Sit back... this is a LONG answer, but I wanted to help you out! I know it can be frustrating. This REALLY works!! There are 3 people sent me an email saying to me that it worked for them!! This was also been chosen by 11 members to be the best answer because it worked for them too!! Proof, see my best answers!!

Gather all materials beforehand -- see "Things You'll Need" below. You might want to store them in a waterproof resealable bag, such as Ziploc. I'd recommend wearing either old clothes or a bathrobe over whatever you are wearing. There is a definite possibility this is going to spill. After you have found everything on you checklist, head to a large, flat, waterproof surface. This is probably your bathroom. Having this room be private is highly advised; you can't just say, "Get out, I'm flattening a pimple," can you?

    Things You'll Need

    - 3 or more cotton balls

    - Lukewarm tap water

    - Cup to hold the water in

    - Salt

    The Method

    1. Salt the water thoroughly -- much more than you think it needs.

    2. Dip one cotton ball in the salt water.

    3. Wait for 30 - 60 seconds.

    4. Squeeze out excess water out until it is damp, but not dripping.

    5. Place the damp cotton ball over your large, oh-my-goodness-I-cannot-go-to-... zit. If you have several of these grouped together, try to place the cotton ball over them all.

    6. Glance at your watch/clock. Wait exactly three minutes.

    7. Remove the cotton ball after the time is up. The zit seems to be nearly gone, but it is only the top that has dissolved. Your acne is still there.

    8. Take the other two cotton balls and place them on either side of the despised pimple.

    9. Slowly, move them closer together until the tiny bump is flattened. Congrats! You've just conquered that giant of a pimple -- forever!

    10. Apply honey on the infected area & go to sleep!!

    Tips

*Don't forget the last 3 steps -- they are crucial.

*Be sure to follow these steps closely. Dipping a cottonball in fresh water as opposed to salt will not work, for instants.

    * You might want to bring a book -- either waterproof or one that you do not care about being splattered in water. Those three minutes can get boring.

    * This is your best bet for monster zits that simply sneak up on you. For long-term healthy skin, cleansing and toning is also important.

    Warnings

    * Please, PLEASE, do not assume this is permission to "pop" pimples. Doing so can cause major scarring. Please don't pop them.

    * If you stop after the top is dissolved, I must warn you: it WILL come back! Maybe not in the next five minutes, but during the course of an hour, it will come back!

If you feel new pimples erupting, ice it! Hold an ice cube over the area for about 5-10 minutes. It REALLY works!!!

Or you can try applying Head & Shoulder Shampoo. It works like a charm!! For more info on this..

If you have too many pimples/whiteheads/blackheads/... I recommend you to try Carley's Clear & Smooth!! It's CHEAPER & BETTER than Proactive!! People are raving about this product!! Read their feedbacks/reviews!!

Hi, I am a dermatologist by profession and according to me acne is normal for teens as they go through various hormonal changes in their bodies. If we keep on trying to heal pimples before they come then in 90% of the cases they won't come out but in 10% of the cases they will reside inside the skin and harm the skin by massive redness, itching and sometimes rashes.

I do recommend http://remove-acne-fast.com/ to all the teenagers who come to me for treating their acne. As this is a guide to get rid of pimples and the best part is all are healthy and tricks that actually works. I tried some listed techniques with my patients and the results were fast and impressive as compared to pills and surgeries.

    Hi,

I am a dermatologist by profession and within a careeer of 10 years I have seen lots of acne problems. According to me Red and white pimples are the worst and painful. Acneprone skin is very sensitive, even if you touch it once the redness will increase with itching. According to me there is no magical way to heal your pimples over night as this is the puffed part of your skin due to the bacteria.

In simple words try to improve your diet and have lots of water that helps in healingg process. Un-necessary oily food should be avoided to get a healthy spotless skin.

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

    Holistic Acne Treatment Guide?

I sympathise with you. There's really NO quick-fix to acne, unfortunately.

I think it would be better if you understand HOW people get acne. There are a few ways for acne to occur. Firstly, elevated levels of something called androgens in your blood, cause your skin to secrete extra sebum. If this doesn't get cleared away, it blocks up your pores, and they will be prone to infection. Secondly, there are bacteria growing on our skin. Some are good. Some bad. In acne, a type of bacteria called Propioni acnes gets clogged up with the sebum in your pores. Your body then trys to fight this mini-infection by mounting an immune response, which, unfortunately leads to inflammation and of course, ACNE.

If you are concerned about your condition, then there are a few things that will definitely work.

    1. Antibiotics. Go see your Doctor to get some advice as to whether you will need antibiotics. Clindamycin and Minomycin are commonly prescribed for acne in Australia.

    2. Oral contraceptives. Yet again, go to see your Doctor and speak to them to see if this is the best course of action. Oral contraceptives will help control the hormones in your body, such that the androgens I mentioned earlier will be less of a worry. If you are sexually active, then the oral contraceptive could also provide you with contraceptive cover.

I'd like to re-iterate that there really is no quick-fix. Stress plays an important factor in acne, so, as much as you can, find the triggers in your life that lead to stress and reduce them as much as you can.

One final thing before I finish. It's important to use products on your skin that are NON-COMEDOGENIC. Things like creams, moisturisers and sunscreen can often clog our pores, and this will lead to black heads and acne. It would be best to find a brand of creams, moisturisers and sunscreen that are NON-COMEDOGENIC. Your pharmacist will be able to help you with that.

Hope this helps. All the best.

I use a product that guarantees results. Acne is bacteria. Not only do you need to fight it from the skin but also from the inside. Never use soap on acne. Excessive cleaning and scrubbing will also make it worse. Your stress and changes in eating habits are probably contributing to this.

I have gone through the same thing. Ive used ProActive and my face is better. Its good stuff but expensive. I would recommend something else because this stuff takes a LONG time.
