What is a really good at home hair dye?
When I say, "really good" I mean one that wont totally destroy my hair but that will also cover well and last more than a few days! I used to use Feria and was always really happy with it, but the last time I did it, it washed out quickly. HELP!
To answer your questions, Im not doing anything drastic at all. I have medium brown hair but I have roots that are a bit darker than the rest. I guess it's from the sun this summer. I just want it to be dark brown all over. I hate this two toned look I have going on!
Mariah,
Thanks for the suggestion. Cost is definitely a huge factor! However, it's the color of my roots that I like! :(

I've had good luck with Feria, but I think you need to switch them up every now and then to get them to take well. When I do that, I go with Preference by L'oreal.

Try "Natural Instincts" demi-permanent color from Clariol. Aim for your natural (root) shade, but be sure to check the box for recommended colors. The color in the picture on the box is usually the shade you're ADDING to what you already have, not necessarily what you will end up with. It only takes about 10 minutes - ask a friend to help you to get even coverage, if possible. It is very gentle and washes out slowly in about 28 shampoos. Follow directions carefully for best results.

Feria is the one i always use. You just have to be really careful what color you use. There is going to be some fading anytime you make a drastic change. If you want something that is really good i would suggest going to a beauty supply store that is open to the public and getting something there.

I've been dying my hair for years. I like the Loreal Creme brand. Make sure you leave the color in for the right amount of time so it has a chance to fully turn. Don't wash it out early. What color are you and what color are you trying to be.

Clariol Nice&Easy is really good doesnt damage your hair. My friend has been dying her hair bright blonde for years with it and her hair is still in great conditon. You can get wash in wash out ones, 6-18 washes ones, 18-30 washes or permanent. And they do wash out when they say i used them a few times in medium brown. Good Luck xxx

I've had the best luck ever out of Revlon Colorsilk. It's cheap and doesn't wash out nearly as easily as Feria did.

Don't do it! Slowly, step away from the do it your self kit. There, all better.
Now, what you need to do is get yourself to a salon, asap. I know that either getting your hair done may be expensive but there is a free option. The best salons in every city teach classed to junior colorists. You have to call the top salons in your area and they will schedule to be their hair model. The classes are taught by the top colorists of that salon. They will give you the latest styles and you will look hot.
