Firefox "tabs"?
I was "surfing" on Mozilla Firefox, which seems to be excellent - except for one odd characteristic: when I clicked on to the "X" in the upper right corner to close out on a site, I got a message that I was closing out "three tabs." When I did, everything was "wiped out" and I ended back at my "desk top." What is happening? How can I avoid it next time?

Have you got Firefox 1.5 or 2.0? if you have Firefox 2.0 each individual tab has a close button on it to close just the tab not the browser, If you do not see the close button on the tabs you may have a theme that does not support the close button, there are some that don't. If you don't have 2.0 I suggest downloading it. The regular red X in the upper right of the browser is to close the browser not the individual tabs. (to close each tab individually if they don't have the close button you must right click the tab and choose close tab) Hope this helps :)

The Little X at Your Right Closes The Current Tab.
The Bigger X at The Top Right Corner Closes ALL Tabs & The Whole Browser at Once...

you can open multiple tabs in firefox. press control + t to open a new tab. then you can open a new site in that tab. makes it a lot easier than opening a new window. if you have mulitple tabs open, it prompts you to warn you that you have more than one tab open. about 1 inch below the X there is a smaller X that is used to close individual tabs.

I assume you have opened more tabs. When you click 'X' on the right top corner, you are actually closing the browser. Other you need to close each tabs separately. Hope it helps

I always close individual tabs by putting the cursor on the tab I want to close, then right-click and choose Close Tab.

when it asks you if you want to close 3 tabs, click cancel. there is a smaller "X" in the same row as the tabs.

you can solve the problem by going into the settings on fox fire and turning off the tabs or you can use the smaller "x" when closing out your windows

There is a smaller "x" down below the usual "x" on the top right. Click that and watch what happens.
