I am getting married on Jan 26,2007. we live in texas, do we have to obtain a marriage license ? Is there?

a waiting period after your divorce is final before you can marry again? My fiance has been seperated for 8 years, and his court date is Jan 8. We are ready to get married but not sure of legalities.

You still have to get a license, although it doesn't have to come from the county you live in or get married in.

I lived and got married in Dallas County, but the Rockwall County courthouse was closer, so that's where we got our license..........

Better check with his attorney. Don't you think you should have set a datre after the divorce is final instead of whe you think it will be? And not knowing if you need a license...geesh...how old are you? 16?

Legalities vary per state. Yes you need a license. and you may want to find out but some states require a waiting period after you get a divorce before you can marry again. Could be as much as 30-60-90 days. Check it out.... and one more question...why would you be engaged to a guy thats married...are you that hard-up?

There is a 60 day wait period in texas after divorce, and of course you must obtain a marriage license at your county courthouse. I know this from experience.

  • There is a waiting period in Texas...30 days after it is finallized...the reason being that the other previous spouce can contest the divorce in Texas up to 30 days after it is final.

It does not matter how long they have been separated in Texas. They give the 3 year separation to file an uncontested divorce, but it can be contested up to 30 days afterwards.

You do have to get a license at your county courthouse. I think there is usually a 30 day waiting period before you can remarry after a divorce... Your courthouse may have a website online.

You should check in to that.. seriously.

i've got been married two times in the previous, so i don't care if i don't marry lower back, yet I won't say that I "won't" marry lower back...it is not a concern in any respect, yet i could extremely want to have somebody to proportion my existence with... i've got been single for an prolonged time now (the extra helpful area of the previous 11 yrs) so i'm mushy with it basically being me, whether it somewhat is how something of my existence is going...I even have buddies and kinfolk and hobbies, so it is not in any respect boring (yet on occasion it gets lonely)...

There generally is no "cooling off period" between marriages. Just make sure that the divorce is "FINAL" before the new marriage.

    Good Luck!

There is no waiting period that I have ever heard of. As soon as he finds out that he is divorced you are free to marry.
