How do people live day to day with no government?
I've been reading about the Ethiopia-Somalia conflict recently and it says there hasn't been a stable government for 15 years. How do people live day to day without a government? For example, what do people do when someone commits a crime? When someone gets sick? For education and work?

In that part of the world having a government is not much different than not having one. Most of the governments are corrupt, some enforce following the beliefs of a particular religion. Receipt of food donations from outside serve to give those in power even more power as they rarely 'give' the food to those in need but instead sell it. They must learn to fend for themselves rather than to depend on someone else to do it for them.

Some commits a crime there are people who would go after the criminals. Sick & education being done by private charity groups.
Work getting food on the table is enough work.
We have operated for 1000s of years with out government. The more government we have the more things are screw up.

It is probably cahotic. Imagine all the services we take for granted.
Anyone who suggests that people live without a government is wrong. There alwasy needs to be a government to help enforce and guide social mores. Even in a primative tribal situation, there are mechnanisms in place for electing leaders, punsihing crimes, distribution of wealth, etc...

they have two competing governments. I think all people would be better off with far less government and certainly without the insidious 'international community'.

Generally, they don't live very well.
They have tribal wars, disease due to lack of adequate health care, vigilante squads of rogue military rather than police, etc...
It's not something anyone would like to experience, and like Somalia, it generally means rape and murder are rampant.

Quite nicely, thank you for asking. People have been taking care of themselves for millenia, who needs government?

This is referred to as anarchy. Some call it chaos. I call it HELL.
