printer & laptop question?

i know this might be better asked elsewhere but i asked this over 16 hours ago and havent gotten any answers so here goes..when i had my wireless network set up the guy also set it up so my laptop along with the desktop both were connected to the printer..my printer had a mini meltdown the other day and now i can not print from the laptop...anyone know an easy way to fix this..i really don't want to call the geek squad out and pay a small fortune for a possible quick fix

Update:

it's an hp photosmart 7350....if i look through my control panel on the lap top and look under printers the printer is listed and it is checked as the default one

Well I would assume by the way you describe the setup that the printer was hooked to the desktop and the guy who set it up simpy shared the printer and set it up on you laptop so that it would find the printer. If your printer is networkable you shoul be able to plug it into your switch or router and make it work again.
