Only ONE person seemed to catch the fact that you said you will be flying WITHIN the united States! If you are American citizens you definetly DO NOT need passports to fly within the Inited States. IF you are going to fly to other countries, including Mexico and Canada, you Do need passports for every family menber. You do NOT need passports to fly to U.S. territories like Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. See web site below.

You dont need passport to fly within US, but you do have to present it at the US customs when you come back from out of country flights. (personal experience). hope that helps.

Are you sure you need passports to fly from state to state? I've never heard of that, but if you do, then yes your kids need them too.

yes they need passports. from personal experience. wen i was 1 and travelling. i was under my mums passport. im not sure how it works these days but i do kno children need passports aswell.
