How ridiculous is this?

This is the best answer to this question?I think not,you shouldn't be able to vote for your own answer,just like you can't in the message board I'm on now.Look at this question and the "best answer"

    it is completely and totally ridiculous. you are right. the asker should be required to pick a best answer, or not be allowed to ask another.

    i once gave myself a best answer by mistake, i was looking at a question i'd answered that was in voting and saw the 'vote for best answer' option. i thought, surely i cant vote for my own answer, and clicked on mine to check, expecting a window to appear or nothing to happen. but i actualy voted and got the ten points! oops! : /

    When most people vote they don't read the question or answer. They will normally pick at random.
