A child this age can get calcium and nutrients without drinking milk. Assuming he/she eats a well balanced diet, I wouldn't worry about replacing your millk with cow's milk. The baby has already received the benefits of breastmilk, so don't feel guilty for weaning!

okay the hardest thing i have ever done is wean my two year old child. They are at an age where they know what is up. I started wearing a normal bra with a sports bra so it wasn't easy to get to for either of us. There is nothing easier than a nursing bra to just pop open it and get busy. then I sat him down and told him mommy's milk is all gone now they understand no more at that age. so then I would give him choc milk like quick b/c it is 99.9 % caffeen free you can do pedi sure or vanilla milk, or even straw berry the key is to make it seem even more special than mommys milk put whip cream on top make it a party get messy use bendy straws basically any thing new and distracting. (the bath after will also distract your child. My children wouldn't take the bottle ever so at walmart they have these nuby sippy cups with a silicone tip top something soft not hard. back to easy access I would wear clothes like sundresses or things that you just couldn't acess your milk the harder you make it for you to get to the easier it is to not give it. I loved being able to nurse my children for so long consider your self blessed!!!! BUT I ALSO NOW ENJOY HAVING MORE THAN 1 GLASS OF WINE:) Take it slow but once you have one day w/o nursing your life will be a little less stressful and then you can become more a wife (if you know what i mean)and less a milk cow hahaha j/k just tell yourself once you stop thats it no more your baby will cry and hit your breast just hold strong with All gone baby but lets do a craft or a hug or a kiss. give him feathers to play with (from craft store)good luck THE KEY IS DISTRACT AND NO ACCESS

The best way to do this is have someone else feed your baby. A breastfed child automatically associates the mother with the breast. I started with one feeding a day of milk instead of a breastfeeding, given by my husband. We did that for a week and then cut out the next breastfeeding session and replaced that one with milk too. Eventually my son was weaned.

Good luck, I hope this helps.

You can put the breast milk in a bottle or cup then each time after that add a little bit more of the milk instead of the breast milk until he does not know the difference

I'm not sure I understand your question - do you mean you wish to wean your baby from the breast? If yes, then there is no need to replace breastmilk with another kind as they are not comparable. That is, breastmilk is a complete food for your baby, where as cows milk or other kinds are just milk and are a food just like cheese, yoghurt, meat, bread, vegetables, fruit etc. My son didn't drink straight cows milk for ages after weaning, but he always had some cheese or yoghurt so I was satisfied with his calcium intake. Im sorry to say but of course you know already.. it is way to late to introduce a bottle NOW. but that is ok. What you can do is wait until the little one is really overwhelmed tired or very cranky in order to introduce a bottle to them. especially if it is WHOLEMILK ( 2 1/2 should be drinking whole milk) and is very warm. Introduce it with a dab of honey on the nipple. IT WORKS GREAT... trust me from experience!!! my nephew was just like this. My daughter was switched from breast to bottle at 2 1/2 months. but im sure you as the mother will need a break and it would be great freedom to get the child on a bottle. What you should do is wait for a quiet time when the little one is about to sleep and then hold them really close to your chest while feeding the warm bottle with a dab of honey on the nipple.

Goodluck to you and your family!!!

Only offer the child drinks from a sippie cup. You could pump and put it into sippie cup and then when that's accepted move onto other liquids. Do not give in as hard as it is. The child will not dehydrate. If the child sticks his tongue out and it's wet-he's not dehydrated. The child will be fine-you just need to be strong and stick with it-and DO NOT ALLOW THE CHILD TO GO TO BED WITH YOU! That opens the door.

    Great weaning advice:

However your baby will likely wean on her own before age three, so you could just wait.
