Cassandra is from Greek Myth - she told the truth but wasn't believed until it was too late. I'm 45 and grew up in Europe, the Caribbean, the South Pacific, and a few northern and western states in the USA because my father was in the Navy. Now I live in the beloved country of Jefferson, Madison, Washington, Mason.
I need help understand men, or this man, or game playing. Can you help?
For eleven months, this man and i have been getting closer and closer, our relationship more and more intense. Every time we get especially close, either he balks and runs away or i make demands that we meet and he runs away. (All on line)
Finally, he told me to back off and leave him alone. Took me a few weeks, because we game in the same spot. I finally stopped trying to talk to him (he never answered me, not once, after he told me to back off) and so i wrote him and apologized for disrepsecting his request. Then, I stopped gaming when he was gaming, leaving the room when he showed up.
Within a day, he was following me onto the game and talking to me like it was old times again, sharing his cares and his triumphs, making jokes, acting sexy towards me.
I really want to connect with this guy, really want to meet. Is there anything I can do realistically to make it happen? (We're 10 hours apart.)
I see that if I go away, he comes after me. How do I make that work for me? What about the actual relationship? I hate these games. I just want to talk with him and play with him. Do we have to keep playing ignore/talk - actually this is new, in the last month of our 11 months.
He's 17 years younger than I am, but very attracted to me and not attracted to the MINDS of women his age. I still look good, look only about 10 years older than he does...

2 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoCan you help me plan how to pack?
In two weeks, I'm leaving my 5000 sq ft house and moving into a 1600 sq ft basement apartment.
I am utterly lost about how to pack. I have taken plants from my current garden and planted them in the new house! I've packed a few nicnacs...
But, when I look at clothes - i think, well, we'll need those for the next two weeks. When I look at books, I think - well, my sons will need to read those in the next weeks... Obviously same with dishes/pots/pans.
i don't have to empty the 5000 sq foot house right now - i can come back and do that after i'm moved in to the new place. so, i just have to pack what I need.
How? Where to start? I'm just spinning in circles...
lots of excess junk around here, too...

My first reaction is why do something that will put off many people you meet. Son's response was - who needs to please closeminded people?
sigh...
34 AnswersGrade-Schooler1 decade agoMy 2000 Toyota Van, 125K miles, is burning through oil like crazy. Piston rings?
There is no leak in my driveway. When I start up the car, I get billows of white/grey smoke. I've had oil changed, filter changed, engine degunked.
What's wrong and what will it cost????
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoIs Apocolyptica very loud in concert?
Hi,
I'd like to take my nearly 11 year old son to see Apocolyptica in a small club venue. This is a Finnish Band that plays heavy metal on Cellos. Son loves heavy metal, but is taking good care of his ears.
6 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoWhat vegan recipe would you recommend to help celebrate my 15 year old son's birthday?
He is newly vegetarian, and his "girl friend" is vegan. I know he'd be thrilled if I presented a special meal honoring her choice.
He wants to have a meal with her and watch a movie on our tv with her. That movie is about Palestine, if that helps inspire a theme, but that's not a necessary theme.
What would you recommend? Please explain techniques/ingredients that might not be readily familiar to a middle aged American.
Thanks so much for your thoughtful replies.

8 AnswersFashion & Accessories1 decade agoBought Leopard for my Mac so I could run Call of Duty 4. Now many programs don't work. Have any help?
Leopard install made most programs we already had not work anymore. Plus, can't get bootcamp to install, which is the windows emulator, so can't run Call of Duty 4.
Any suggestions? Have you successfully run a Windows game on your Mac?
I have no problem with call of duty 2, but that is a Mac platform.
Surely the new OS has to work....
3 AnswersDesktops1 decade agoWhat music would you include on a funeral ride?
A friend's mother's death from leukemia is imminent. My friend and her brother mentioned that they will have to be transporting their mother's body after she dies at home, and they are planning to play "Highway to Hell" on the car cd player while they're transporting their mother's body.
After we roared with laughter about this, (sometimes, in an 8 month dying process, you just have to laugh) I said, "No No, Mozart's Requiem." At which point, brother and sister announced that that was my job, to make a CD of music for their 20+ minute car trip with mom.
What would you include on this CD? Suggestions from all genres of music welcome.
Thanks for your thoughtful replies.
7 AnswersOther - Music1 decade agoDoes the Wii live up to its promise?
I thought the Wii would be a great gaming system for my kids. I've never allowed them to have a play station or nintendo or any of those, thinking they are social and fitness killers.
The Wii looks fun, and looks like it helps kids play actively while indoors.
Read a review of the Wii in slate magazine recently, and they bashed it big time, saying the games are either too easy or too hard and no one really works up a sweat playing it.
What is YOUR experience with the Wii? Would you recommend it? What games do you like best on it?
Thanks for your time and thoughtful replies.
13 AnswersNintendo Wii1 decade agois there a traditional gift for a friend to give for a sweet sixteen party, in the mexican tradition?
Our son has been invited to a friend's party, and she's let him know it's a traditional Mexican sweet sixteen party.
Are there traditional gifts that would be best to buy or does the tradition making all rest with the family?

3 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agoWhat does this movie make you want to say about free speech in the USA?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bVa6jn4rpE&mode=re...
Best answer will be to someone who avoids all reference to groups (libs, libtards, rethuglicans, rabble rousers, what have you), and speaks only about what this movie evokes in his/her intellect and emotion vis a vis free speech in the USA. Thanks.
16 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy do so many Americans think Petraeus is 'making a report' when he is testifying?
He is required by law to testify before Congress by Sept. 15th. That's what he's doing. Why are Americans making excuses for him not taking an oath, by saying he's only 'making a report' - like a kid giving a book report, I guess - rather than testifying?
Why do so Many Americans here on Yahoo just not care that the White House, The Media, and Gen. Petraeus lie to them about our mass murder and torture fest in Iraq?
8 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy wasn't General Petraeus sworn in today?
Why was he allowed to testify without taking an oath? That is most unusual.
I remember that they let Gonzales testify that way, too, and what a liar he turned out to be.
HMMMMMM.... Listening on C-Span - did I just miss the swearing in or are we definitely being lied to?
19 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoIs this the Wierdest Story Ever? Israeli Neo-Nazis desecrating synogogues?
http://news.independent.co.uk/world/middle_east/ar...
Six decades after Israel was founded to ensure that Jews would never suffer another Holocaust, the Jewish state has smashed its first cell of neo-Nazis. The idea was so unthinkable that the country has no law against neo-Nazi activity.
Eight Russian immigrants, aged 16 to 21, were remanded in custody in the Ramleh magistrates' court, near Tel-Aviv, yesterday. They covered their faces with their shirts, baring arms tattooed with neo-Nazi insignia and slogans, and protested their innocence. A ninth suspect has fled the country. They are to be charged tomorrow with causing bodily harm, illegally possessing weapons and denying the Holocaust

13 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoDid the English eat in silence in the 15th century?
I'm reading a book on the War of the Roses. The author says that the Lord High Mayor of London threw a banquet for 1000 people that lasted ten hours and that the most impressive thing, to visiting Venetians, was that the whole thing was conducted in silence. This caused the Venetians to remark on the great politeness of the English.
I know mores change with the centuries, but it seems unendurable to sit for 10 hours and not speak.
What am I missing about this? Did people actually eat and leave, no one staying the full ten hours? Was it actually just the serving crew that didn't speak?
