Bought Leopard for my Mac so I could run Call of Duty 4. Now many programs don't work. Have any help?

Leopard install made most programs we already had not work anymore. Plus, can't get bootcamp to install, which is the windows emulator, so can't run Call of Duty 4.

Any suggestions? Have you successfully run a Windows game on your Mac?

I have no problem with call of duty 2, but that is a Mac platform.

Surely the new OS has to work....

Update:

YAY! Thanks for the encouragement and good info all. I do have an intel based Mac - processer 2 ghs intel core duo and memory 1 gb 667 mhz ram.

Right. The OS does work. It sounds like you were running a much older version of Mac OS X before you upgraded. First thing you need to do is make sure your hardware met the requirements for the upgrade to Leopard.

Assuming everything there is okay then I'd suggest running Software Update (Apple > Software Update) to make sure everything is up to date and all the latest patches are installed.

Which programs are not working now?

There is a Boot Camp setup assistant installed with Leopard (Apple > Applications > Utilities > Boot Camp Assistant) which will take you through the installation correctly.

Boot Camp itself will run Windows without any problems once it's installed properly and C.O.D. 4 will look and play AWESOME on the Mac hardware.

    Good luck!

Since Leopard is still relatively new, some companies haven't finished updating their programs to work smoothly with leopard yet. You should check if there are new versions of any of the programs you use; chances are there are new versions out for some of them that make them compatible with Leopard.

As for Boot Camp, it only works on Intel-based Macs, so you should check if yours is even able to use it. To do this, click on the Apple menu at the top-left of your screen, and select the first item, "About This Mac". If it doesn't say something involving the name Intel across from the "Processor" heading in that window, your Mac is of the older variety that can't run Windows natively. If your heart is really set on playing CoD4 (and your Mac isn't an Intel Mac), you might have to consider getting a newer Mac or building a cheap PC just to run the occasional Windows game on. Hope this helps!
