Causes for changing monitor colors: 1) Something inside your computer is loose [make sure none of the cards, cables, and screws are loose]. 2) Your video card needs to be replaced. 3) Software incompatibility [new software is incompatible with old software: downloads or from discs] 4) Virus/ virii [this is the correct spelling of "virus" from Latin, not "viruses."] 5) Your monitor needs to be replaced? 6) It could be some cause(s) other than what's listed above.

couple things listed in order of mostly likely to least likely:

    1. Pinched VGA cable, try swapping it out.

    2. Monitor is going bad, not likely though monitors usually display wierd stuff on the screen, not solid colors

    3. Video Card is going bad, not likely either because video cards will usually put nothing on the screen if going bad.

  • I'm no geek, but if you go to start @ bottom left, click, go to settings, click, go to monitor, click appearence, then background.

Select choice color, click APPLY, that should lock in your choice, and should not randomly change your background.

As a second thought, check and see if your CPU recognizes the monitor your using.By the way, my T.C#PC013

    Good Luck, Rick

mine does the same, brand new, suspect it either relates to the graphics power saver setting or the graphics card drivers, I'm going to try upgrading them
