Need help with some questions about the world... These are meant to be aimed at 13-25 year olds?

*Apparently there are more people alive today than have died so far in the history of humankind, yet we have high level interventionist medicine and won’t allow euthanasia. Is this right? Where does this lead/leave us?

* ‘Life is what happens when you are busy making plans’ John Lennon. Do you feel you spend your life well? If not, what should you do differently? If you died tomorrow, would you be happy with the way you have spent your life?

* People seem to have less and less respect every generation, for others and for the world, however, recent events (the response among young people to the ‘make poverty history concerts/campaigns etc) suggests young people care and want to do something. Do people care less today? What actually can be done? – by individuals and by the masses – given the state of the world young people will inherit.

*Are we evolving at all? Are we learning from history or just repeating it? (eg Jihad & religious wars today cf crusades and religious disputes).

Update:

There are many pressures on young people today - to follow a certain path or live within certain rules developed by others. Is it more important to you to have money and ‘success’ or to feel fulfilled personally?

*Do kids grow too old too quickly today? Are they forced to grow up? Perhaps by easy access too much information creating an awareness of the broader world where previously they may have been ignorant?

It would be great to get some well-thought out answers to these.... also, could you state age and location, so I know for study purposes?

Hi! I'm 26 but I hope I can squeeze into your study.

    1) Personally I think that too many people are worried about prolonging life rather than making the most of it. Western culture has long tried to ignore the fact of death by prolonging life and youth. Healthcare is fine, but some of the interventionist ideas are totally unnatural. There is too much pressure on people to look young,as youth is seen as being the opposite of death. The logical outcome then, is that people will face more pressure to keep up appearances rather than let life take its natural course.

    2) If I died, I would feel happy about how I have spent my life. Sure, there's always things I would have liked to have done, places I would have liked to have seen, but ultimately, even if I lived a hundred lifetimes, I still would not have had all the experiences I would have liked. It's better just to make the most of everday.

    3) I think young people generally act the way they are expected to. When all they hear are negative things about them on the news, I guess they are naturaly going to live up to those expectations. But the examples you have given show that when they are given opportunities to contribute in meaningful ways, they do. I would love to see more opportunities for young people to make a difference on a global scale.

    4) To a certain extent, history is repeating. I think it's humankind's nature to self destruct. Only now we can do this much more effectively than we could in the past. Humans will always exploit differences.

    5) I would rather have fulfillment than money or sucess. When I went to Africa in 2000, I learnt a lot about happiness and fulfillment, and realised that money and sucess doesn't bring it.

    6) Unfortunately we live in a world where ignorance can be dangerous. While I think that young people are forced to grow up too quickly, information is a necessary evil in order to offer some protection.

    Good luck!

the answer for your first question is yes, today the number of birth child is growing truly fast and less people die, because of the new inventions, normally in other times(like middle age) people could die even because of a cold, or malaria, we have found a medicine to heal theses kind of disease these may lead to an overpopulation of the world and more problems, your other question about young people, yes , thanks to the globalization now kids grow up too fast, and people every year is turning more careless, and about concerts and campaigns, well, really give a concert to poor people won't give them food permanently, it's just a help, and this without counting the huge poor/rich gap, and the solutions is not in hands of young people only, old & midlle age people is responsabile too, becouse it's supossed that they have more experience and is old people who are heads of state in most of the countries, the history is changing is never the same, but is few what we are learning in for history, and well, the last question.... you always feel you have things to do and nobody wants to die never, but dead is the only thing you really can't change in your live, but you can't think: "i have to do this becouse i can die", this means you have to enjoy to the maximum you life but don't thinking in the die when i wiil die
