They have just dropped by alot! I payed $150 for my nano a little less than a year ago, but when I bought one a couple of months ago it was $89. Get one of the first generation nanos and you can get them pretty cheap.

New iPod nanos are rumored to come back out in the course of the keynote speech for the period of Apple's WWDC, international huge builders convention on August 7. The rumors has it that the recent nanos will be: -6-8 gb nanos -replacing outdoors to equivalent to the mini -Video applications -iTunes movie leases

I think that the prices have already dropped in the USA. The nano costs about 100$
