First I would give him a hug and welcome him explaining that he has just landed on Earth, the best of the best.

Second I would explain about colors to him, the heated orange of the sunrise, the heavenly blue of the sky, the living breathing blue green of the ocean, and the velvet green of grass.

Thirdly I would explain that sound is everywhere, some of it is music and is wonderful and some of it is noisy cars, and alot of people talking about mostly themselves but if you listen really close every once in a while there will be a voice that speaks of truth and love and you will know it is true because you will feel it when you hear it.

Fourth I would tell him of jell-o and chocolate and coffee and cookies and milk and cotton candy-the tastes, the smells, the way you feel when you indulge in them.

Fifth, I would hug him again and tell him that the best thing about earth is its people because they are all different and diverse but they all love the same and touching one another is one of the greatest ways to feel anothers heartbeat and the life within them, also that we love and learn and teach thru touch.

Good-bye sweet Alien and Good luck!!

    1. Humans are very judgemental.

    2. Earth is slowly dying, so humans will not be a threat to anyone much longer.

    3. Earth was a very beautiful place until the humans destroyed it, but there are a few places that have been left unravished.

    4. Earth is not worth your time. The moon is the best place ever.

    5. There are very few people on this Earth who want to help the human race survive.

    Geez! I'm bitter today...

I would tell him about music. Give him all different types to listen to. Explain that music can evoke very strong feelings in people, make us happy, sad, proud, excited, angry. And it's all around us, in almost everything we do.........we listen to music while working, shopping, driving, relaxing, playing. It's in movies. At sporting events. Even on our cell phones. And how even those of us who can't sing worth a damn, often do anyways just for the pleasure of singing.

I would tell him about books. How by reading books a person can "become" another person, do things they have never done. How books teach us, enrich us, amuse us. Take us to faraway places, without ever leaving home. They tell us of the past, the present, and some possible futures, as well as things that never were and never will be.

I would tell him about laughter. About the things that makes us laugh. Jokes, puns, riddles. Stupid stories about dumb people that make us feel like we're not quite so dumb ourselves. How laughing makes us feel better. About laughing so hard that you cry. And then laughing some more just because you are crying.

I would tell about chocolate. Dark chocolate, milk chocolate. Chocolate cake, chocolate ice cream, hot chocolate. Chocolate and peanut butter. M & M's and Nestle Crunch bars. Kit Kats. How it gets all gooey when it's warm, like in chocolate chip cookies. How good hot fudge is on an ice cream sundae.

I would tell him about football. How a bunch of guys run around for a few hours on Sunday afternoons beating the crap out of each other to get a little ball from one end of the field to the other. How thousands of us sit glued to our TVs watching them do this. How we will cheer, applaud, scream ourselves hoarse sometimes, boo the refs and the players, cuss and swear. And how after the game is over, those same guys that you'd swear were trying to kill each other, might very well go to the bar and buy each other a drink. Because it was all just in fun. Just a game. And that a lot of things are that way in life, here on earth.
