Looks really dark when playing mpeg, wmv..files with Windows Media Player?

I was using Windows Media Player 9

and whenever I'm streaming a movie (like watching movie trailor from AMC site or watching games in gamespot) or just playing files, somehow it will look really dark.

I have installed a program called GOM which my friend recommended and it worked fine there.

I tryed messing with the brightness and contrast of the video but didn't really helped.

I did upgraded my graphic card driver to the latest...

and i tried upgrading to windows media player 10.

but still dark.

no spyware or virus problems since I run ad-aware, spyware and anti viruses everyday.

Any information on the darkened video would be great.

Thanks guys!

If that dosen't work, go to the control panel and try increasing the gamma setting on your video card.

I had similar problems, and the issue was that there was a Microsoft hardware download for my particular video card with the OS I was running.

Run Windows Update and see if there are any graphics hardware updates available... might want to check the manufacturer's site for your monitor and see if there are updates for your monitor driver as well.
