4)Taxes pay for things that we as individuals cannot afford, such as government and public works. I'd definitely go for stricter management of funds, but tax hikes can be necessary at times.

As for minimum wage increases, a living wage should be part of the cost of doing business. Business owners, small time and corporate, routinely factor in the costs of office supplies, rent, and other expenses that are absolutely necessary; why shouldn't paying their employees enough to support a basic living be one of them?

Aliens cross the border because their own country doens't have the oppurtunities. Instead of shelling out billions to build a fence, expand the Border Patrol, expand the INS, deport millions of immigrants, and make up for their lost labor, lets invest just a fraction of that money in foreign aid to help Mexico.
