A theory is a hypothesis that has been proven. The evolution debate is devoid of the scientific meaning of a theory.

In general a theory is a supposition based on evidence. It's not always hard and fast, but then that is the point of a theory. In music it's the study of the actual composition process and how chords, keys, and methods of composition relate to each other.

It would be in the dictionary, but I'm to lazy to look it up. A theory would be a body of set beliefs on a subject. But that would not nessicarily make the beliefs true.

sorry, but I do not understand your question?
If you me the actual word it is the same as yours, but do not mix it up with Theology.
You can theorize about anything you like. Even events of the Bible. But, in the end you have to have faith that what you read is true and all theory is mute.

in my own words
theory .... something that is thought to be true by the surrounding evidence
it is not a proven fact and many people may have their own theory depending on their own surrounding evidence
a personal conclusion
