Romantic Birthday dinner in Sydney?
I want to take my husband out for a nice romantic dinner in sydney, preferably in the city. Does anyone have any ideas. First hand experience would be good.

How about.... A themed party at home? Something like 'Pimps an Hoes' - hubby could make you a 'throne' to sit in for the night.......or 'Black and White' hubby could buy a white gold piece of jewllery with a nice new authentic designer black handbag.......or 'Opposites Attract' being that it is winter make the theme opposite like a hawaiian party, he could make you cocktails all night while you dance the night away under heaters with your mates..... or 'Glamour with a glitch' hubby could take you out to buy a beautiful dress (that you could also get wear again and again)...... but do up your make-up bad or have toilet paper 'stuck' to your shoes as the glitch...... If you dont want the mess at home, hire a function room somewhere in/towards the city but still close to home so a cab will be cheap, somethimes it can be cheaper hiring a room too than setting up a party at home...... Joel - Take Melanie (and yourself) shopping..... start the day with a breakfast at a nice restaurant before whisking her (and yourself) to a day spa for a massage and a facial (every girls dream,.....ahhhh) then when you finish and have had lunch and coffee at a nice cafe, take her to town or markets to buy lots of new clothes, shoes and accessories.... every woman would love a new wardrobe and with a partner to offer the advice 'you look fantastic' and 'no your bum doesn't look big' she will have the day of her life!!!!! Have fun!!!!!

How about Nick's Bar and Grill on King Street Wharf at the back of the aquariaum (spelling bad I know-just finshed 14 hour shift!)
I used to work there as THE pastry chef about 4 years ago now!!
Really nice food and may I reccomend the Caeser Salad if they still make - the croutons alone are to die for!!!!

My favorite place to have dinner is Aria resturant at the Quay or Quay resturant. Both are quite pricey but really beautiful to eat at. Maybe cafe sydney as well......good luck!
