Application of heat will encourage the spot to come to a head and drain the fastest. Until it drains, it can't heal. Lotions and potions will just aggrivate things, and poking at it will make things worse. Get a damp washrag as hot as you can stand it and apply it to the affected spot, hold until it cools down. Repeat this as often as you can or like. Within a day or so it should come to a head like a regular pimple, and will drain all by itself. You can visit the doctor for an antibiotic, but this will not hasten the draining process, it will just help prevent it spreading. Keep your hands away from the spot, don't poke or squeeze it. When it does drain, clean the eye carefully and wash well afterwards. Whatever you do, don't touch your other eye because you can spread the bacteria to the other eye and have another one appear. If you squeeze the spot you can rupture it under the lid and spread it to the entire eye lid. You really don't want to do that. So apply heat, and wait it out- a few days ususally does the trick.

Soften the stye by applying a hot, moist compress several times a day for at lease 10 minutes at a time.
The tannic acid in tea is reported to help cure styes - take a used tea bag that is still warm and apply it to the eye as a warm compress.
An old folk remedy recommends rinsing the eye with milk. If it works for you, let us know!
Refrain from wearing eye makeup while the stye is active.
Do not rub your eyes or you risk irritating and spreading the infection.
There are many over-the-counter stye remedies you can try - see your local pharmacist.
Whatever you choose to do - be very careful when putting unknown chemicals on or in your eyes - if you’re unfamiliar with a remedy then consult your doctor first.

Styes are usually a staph infection in a hair follicle. Using a warm compress (warm, damp, clean washcloth) will help the stye to come to a head (like a pimple). Never "pop" a stye! Also, try not to rub it. It will spread the infection.
You can take echinacea to help boost your immune system. Also, I have read you can make an eye wash with red raspberry leaf tea that will help. The best cure for any infection in the eye is breastmilk, but that's usually unavailable and too gross for most people.

Warm compresses, but be absolutely sure that you use clean cloths/gauze as to avoid any further irritation or infection - eyes are a very sensitive and susceptible area.
