How do you pray?

There are many different ways to pray like catholics recite the rosary, some people ask God for things, and others thank Him. When I I have a problem I will ask Him for help but I never tell him how He should fix the problem. I let God decide how to fix it. Sometimes I do the rosary because its a form of meditation.

Update:

i have a religion, i was just interested in how others pray. there is no right or wrong answers.

Update 2:

if u don't pray don't answer, its pointless.

Actually, the rosary is a form of prayer. Prayer is talking to God. Meditating is listening to God. I talk to God just like I would a friend-since he is a friend to me-in plain terms and current language. Remember that God can look into your heart and he hears all prayers from those who are sincere. Flowery prayers from insincere people are still insincere.

I personaly dont believe in reciting stuff written by others since to me prayer is a conversation with my God and thus should be in my own words for instance even the Lords prayer was given as an example he did not say to pray this in these words instead he said (Matt.6:9 "This, then, is how you should pray: "`Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, )

also he tells us not ot pray in public but

(Matt.6:6. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. )

I guess I would have to say that I basically, First Thank God for my many blessings, food, health, family etc. then if I have a problem I ask for his guidence, and understanding. Then if I have sinned or feel Ive done something wrong I pray for forgivness and strength to not make the same mistake twice

The thing I find quite amazing is how all too often, among the "laws of religion" we sometimes just forget God truly loves us. Yes, we have heard it all before, God loves us so much that he sacrificed His only Son for us, and He gave us life. And so by even reciting his name, by going to a holy place; perhaps doing a good deed, and most importantly by you just lovING GOD, you can pray. All faiths define how to pray, but at the core the relationship between God and you is unique, and by He shall accept your prayer in any way if you just show love for him.

For example, in Pauls letters, he mentions the great "grace of God" that God loves us so much that as long as we believe in His Son Jesus and repent, we can be saved. In the Hindu Bhagwad Gita, the Supreme Lord says "offer Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit or water, I will accept it.’’ Its your relationship with God, whatever you do, if you truly believe and have faith in him, he shall accept you with open arms

Praying is not just give me this and that's. I think you have to say whats in your heart. you can pray in any form like for example you could make it in a form of conversation. Just to it the way it feels more good to you. God doesn't need a fancy prayer as long as you say what you feel that's all he need.

I like to believe that I am in a constant dialogue with God, that we are always communicating, that he is listening to all my thoughts, dreams and hopes, and guiding me toward where I need to be to achieve what I need to achieve. Sometimes I direct my thoughts to God in the form of prayer. I often thank God and the universe for the blessings and miracles in my life. I try to remain open to my intuition and feelings, and enable myself to recieve the answers and guidance I am seeking. I think formal prayer becomes more habitual and spiritless, and prefer to go from wherever I am coming from at the time.

Jesus said to ask, to seek, and to knock and we will receive the answers. Prayer doesn't only mean making requests but prayer is also a form of worship, making God the center of your life and in doing so we are obeying the commandment to love God with all our hearts, minds and souls and not putting anything before Him as we seek Him first in prayer.

I pray to God, the Father, privately, based on Jesus' example of prayer. I pray to God in the name of Jesus Christ thanking Him for all of His blessings and partitioning Him for specific requests for others. (God knows my needs better than I do ).

I pray to God like he is my father, I ask him for help and I thank him for blessing me and I just talk to him and tell him how I am feeling and how my day went...and I sing praises to Him. I keep it simple because I'm simple
