It is true that many people have bad spellings and poor grammar when they ask questions or answer them on YA. However, I wouldn't generalize and say that everyone is guilty of this. From a little bit of observation, you would find that most of these aberrations are from people who have just a few questions to ask on specific subjects, and once they get their replies, they don't continue with YA! Maybe they are youngsters who are still in school - hard to say.

Barring these, those who reach level 3 or above generally are good in grammar and spelling, showing a different level of educational and intellectual capacity. I may be wrong in this observation but perhaps someone could conduct a study on this interesting comment made by you.

Another reason for bad spelling and grammar could be that people just want to give some answers in order to gain a few points and flit from answer to answer, and ask questions rapidly without searching for earlier questions on the same topic. They thus sacrifice accuracy in spelling and proper grammar for speed and impatience.

    Who's everyone?

Obviously you are new here. Not everyone is guilty of these accusations. It would be like me saying why do all new people ask ridiculous questions (like yours) that have been asked and answered hundreds, if not thousands, of times without searching Answers first? Get my point?

After you've been here awhile, you'll begin to filter out the dummies and automatically focus in on the real deal without giving it a thought. Sometimes it's actually fun to try and figure out what some of the morons are trying to say. Have fun at it and don't let it get to you.

When you start getting frivolous violations, then you can consider yourself fully initiated. BTW, doesn't overusing question marks fall into the category of bad grammar? Just kidding...

It reflects the wonderful (being sarcastic here) education we get in the US.

Otherwise, they're not from the US so English isn't their first language.
