Toilet Paper?

1. When you're putting in a new roll, do you put the roll in so that

a) the paper rolls over the top? Why?

b) the paper rolls from the bottom? Why?

c) I don't care or pay attention?

2. Also, when you're at someone else's house... have you taken the toilet paper out of the holder and put it the way you like it? (I have) :-)

You know, the way a person hangs their toilet paper says a lot about them. For your first question, I would definitely say a). When you consider the rich cultural history and impact on modern-day hygiene it has had, to hang the roll under so that it looks unnatural and sloppy is just plain disrespectful. And for your second question, YES! In fact, I once broke off the toilet paper roll holder at my friend's house in an attempt to do so. I also take samples of toilet paper from public places to study and compare their textures and absorbency levels. Don't worry, I'm not mental or anything. Just weird.

The answer is A. Rolls over the top. There is a practical reason for this.

Hotels traditionally fold the toilet paper into a nice little point, over the top, and secure it with a sticker. This is to indicate that the bathroom has been cleaned.

2nd Practical Reason is that when you are sitting on the toilet, in the dark, it is easier to drag your hand downward, spin the roll., and find the end/beginning of the roll.

3rd: (Non practical reason) When I got married, the priest declared that's the way it should be, so it wouldn't be one of the stupid things couples argue about. (Honest, this really happened.)

No, I have never changed the positioning of the toilet paper roll in someone else's house. But, every time I see an "under wrap", I chuckle to myself about the priest's advice. And then I have to explain to people why I come out of the bathroom laughing...........

Step 1. Flush a few more times to clean as well as you can. 2. Turn off the water to the toilet. 3. Flush again, now remove all the water that's left from the tank and the bowl. 4. Use a small compact mirror and a flashlight to look up inside the toilet for and thing that is not suppose to be there. Be patient, it takes a little practice. 5. If nothing is obstructing the bowl going up, then you will need to take the toilet loose from the floor, lean it forward very carefully, and look up the bottom side of the toilet bowl with the flashlight for and foreign objects. Hopefully it is that simple for you and can retrieve whatever it is easily. It will only cost you the price of a wax ring, about 5 dollars, to reset the toilet.

We have a commercial janitorial service, and we always place the rolls so the paper comes over the top. Looks better, easier access and does unroll better since it has no resistance of pulling against the roll

Husband prefers rolls over the top.

Personally, don't care as long it is there.

Question 2 is very odd indeed.

If you like the patterned paper, it goes over the top so you can see the pattern.

If you have misbehaving pets, who like to TP the house, it goes under the bottom.

i like it over the top...the next peice is easier to grasp, it's already hanging over! the bottom way , usually i have to look for the next peice because it has somehow stuck itself to the cabinet or camouflaged itself within the roll...and yes i do change other peoples rolls!

    a. It is easier to grab when it isn't so close to the wall.

    b. If you have toddlers or cats who like to unroll it. It is harder to unroll this way.

I have changed someone elses, but not often. I'm not that compulsive or particular.

  • Over the top - but I don't know why - maybe it's because my ex liked it from the bottom :)

A maybe because going forward with things feels a lot better than going backwards. yes i have changed other people's rolls. my husband thinks i am crazy, i nag him about it when he changes it. definite pet peeve.
