that was way back in 60's/70's. i recall all kinds of stuff being put in products to get consumers to buy their stuff. ah! the good ole days.

Yes Oxydol for one. Welch always had the grape jelly in glasses and cereal always had prizes. I guess our parents bringing home the grocery's was an adventure. I remember when Frosted Flakes came out. The first sugarcoated cereal. { yes kids phones were locked into the walls and we didn't always have sugared cereal]. My Mother advanced in her thinking never allowed me to have it. I always had Snap, Crackle and Pop. Wish I still had those rings they are worth big bucks.

Yup. That goes back a ways, tho. Still have them Grape Jelly glasses in the cupboard with Flintstones on them.

I don't remember this. But my grandmother told me that during the depression movie theaters would give away "ugly" clear green and pink dishes. Now this is the much sought after depression wear. There probably is a lot of freebies that are worth a lot of money if you still have them.

yes, that was our way of getting glasses and some companies has free plastic plates and bowls in their product.

yes many years ago it was tide or either cheer to my knowledge that put drinking glasses in the boxes

they were matched sets if you did enough laundry..... :-)
