Is Cosmo magazine generally wrapped in some sort of plastic when mailed for a home subscription?

I have a subscription to Cosmo magazine and was wondering if anyone who has a subscription can tell me if their copies arrive in a plastic covering. Mine do not. I also recieve my mail on a college campus and do not know if the emplyees are taking my magazines out of the plastic wrap and reading them. They always seem to come late and heavily worn and damaged.

No plastic which is why they're all beat up when you get them. I subscribe to LOADS of magazines and always see the new copies in stores before mine arrive in my mailbox. That's just the way it is now. Used to be that magazines came in plastic then it became an environmental issue, plus it's cheaper for the mag companies to just slap a label on it and send it on its way.

You can always call Cosmo's 800# and tell customer service that your magazines are late and damaged when they arrive, sometimes they'll send you a replacement magazine and even extend your subscription by a couple of issues for your troubles.

When I was in college I used to do the mail for my dorm (I was an RA and it was an additional assignment). Chances are the people working there do not have the time to steal your 1 Cosmo out of the 100 Cosmos that arrive. Also, there are so many subscriptions that arrive for people who moved out and never changed address or canceled .. so there are plenty of free magazines for people to take.

The issues on it being tattered and late is usually because the post office delivers to the campus mail center and then they distribute it to the dorms, and then a mail person puts it in your mailbox.. so it is like 3 extra steps that are probably not done very efficiently. Also most university's don't have someone to do the mail on the weekends. So if it arrives late Friday to the campus mail center, it might not be distributed until Monday and then add a day or two for the time it takes to arrive to your dorm and then the mail person to distribute them to the mailbox.

For example when I had netflix in college it it would take about 4 days to receive a new movie, when in my off-campus apartment it takes one day from when it is shipped.

BUT, I do agree that you should at least inquire with the post office, campus mail or your building manager. Maybe IF someone is doing something wrong then they can at least put up some sort or warning.

It will only arrive in plastic covering a: When your bill is almost due (usually 2 months before due so you have time to re-subscribe) or b: When it is a special edition (they want you to pay before you can peek at the grocery store). If you are having an issue with how it arrives tell your postmaster. If it is always late someone could be tapering with your mail. If the issue continues either get a P.O. Box or just deal with the little damage done during delivery.
