Getting drugs from Mexico or Canada in the long run will not help cost. Costs are lower in these countries because US companies sell the drugs to them at deep discounts. They charge higher prices in the US to cover thier R&D costs. If everyone starts getting thier drugs from out of the country, drug companies will be forced to stop offering these, what amounts to a subsidy for these foriegn countries. In the end it would result in higher cost for most people outside of the US. This might not be a huge problem for a country like Canada but it could have a significant impact on extremely poor countries. Just my .02 cents

Get generics whenever you can and write to you representative and senators.
If you are really dedicated to the prospect join a group that lobbied congress, start your own goup, get inviolved. That's how things get done in this country, or anywhere for that mater. Sometimes asking for things to be done just won't work. Most of the time that is, but remember - great things are done through the determination of small groups of people or individuals. How bad do yo want it?

Go to the pharmaceutical websites i.e. Pfizer, Glaxo etc. and they all have a heading called Community Care or some similar heading and they have forms you can print out and take to your doctor who will fill out part 1 of the form and you will fill out your part and the meds will be delivered free to your doctors office and you can pick them up or some companies will deliver them directly to your door. This is something the companies would like to keep quiet but OH Well!! I have done this and I get my meds for free.

I think drug companies should not be allowed to advertise. The drug companies would save billions of dollars by not paying to advertise and that savings could be passed along to patients by lower drug prices when they fill a prescription.

We as taxe payers should tell the government that we employ that untill we have healthcare with a perscription plan like they have they won't have any either. Our taxes pay these officals and they have plans where it only cost a few dollars for a perscription. Why should we pay for that when we have to pay hundreds of dollars for the same perscription.

This is an easy one! Use generic versions of name brand drugs and cut the cost 50%-75% when they are available.
