Should church be able to opt out of gay rights laws?

No they shouldn't. Should a cult be allowed to wave the banning of slavery and keep people in chains to do their bidding just because they're a "church"? How about if the Satanic church tried to repeal animal cruelty laws so they could sacrifice goats the way they wished?

Religious organizations if they want to operate in a country should respect its laws. And these laws about human rights have been passed into law, they're as binding as laws to prevent criminal acts. If they "opt" out, they are committing a crime.

At current there are "opt out" clauses in terms of "gay marriage" and the church. It allows for ministers/pastors not to participate in such ceremonies which is an obvious choice for most. But there are denominations such as the Episcopalian and Lutheran (because they have ordained homosexuals in the church) that allow it.

No entity that employs people in the United States should get a pass. Obey the law or shut down. I wouldn't worry about the Catholic church's petty little threats - if there's a need, it'll be met.

You go to church for church.

You go to congress for Law.

If your church goes by the bible, GAY is an abomination of GOD.
