why are we as Americans concerned about AIDS in Africa, shouldn't we be more concerned about AIDS in America

I mean how can we help others when we need to help ourselves first. I know that there are a lot of people with AIDS in Africa but there are people with AIDS here in America. Also what about starving childern here in America and homeless just in general what about Americas problems why dont we try to fix them first or at least minimize them then help other countries fix their problems or how about we fix our problems and not but into other countries business anymore.
