What do liberals here mean by "liberal"?

the labels liberal and conservative are only accurate to the people on the fringe of american life - which is to say polticians.

most americans (as our president stated in the state of the union address) DON'T CARE about that stuff and just want to see stuff get done.

i really don't see what possible good could come from further trying to label and stereotype people based on their political beliefs.

only fringe lunatics seriously use the terms liberal and conservative as if they have any real meaning...

Im a social "new" liberal. Im totally for socialism and liberalism, in the sense that i believe we should have very open minded freedoms and liberties but at the same time understand that it is our duty as citizens to ensure everyone has the same rights, and opportunities. I believe there should be a salary cap of say a million a year and that extra money should go to health care, school funding, inflation relief, ect. because no matter what anyone sais, you dont NEED more than that.

In my opinion a liberal is now defined as anyone who does not agree with what bush has to say.

Open-minded. Having the ability to adjust reasoning upon more information.

A liberal has a mind of his/her own. We don't like being told what to do or how to live our lives by an elite few.

You basically have just exposed liberals and the fact that they really are socialists and are against individual freedom.

From what I can tell they mean the second.
