Just be brave, if you start to get scared just think about the people who need the blood... that always helps me. If blood makes you squeamish, don't watch what they're doing and don't look at the bag that your blood is going into.

Make sure you drink lots of water starting about 24 hours beforehand, this will keep you from getting dehydrated. Also don't do it on an empty stomach. You might feel a little light-headed after giving blood, this is normal and will go away in a few hours.

It gets easier every time and you will feel good doing something good for people in need!

No, whoever said that weed isn't in your bloodstream is an idiot. The effect of being high is caused by the THC is your bloodstream which goes to your brain. If you smoke weed often, it usually take about 30 days to clean out of your system. If it was a once in a while thing, then it could possibly be out of your system. But don't take the chance. Just because they don't test for it doesn't mean you should do it. Have the decency to give these people clean blood. So if you can't stay sober during spring break, which I doubt you can (: , then just donate some other time.

First off be sure you know that your not anemic as giving can make you sick. Make sure you havnt been subject to hep c (tattoos), hiv, or other disorders passed by blood. Be sure and eat well the day of blood donation, eat a few high sugar/carb things,,,,,get up slowly after you donate, take it easy for a few hours after.......

be sure to keep your donor card,....it is a proud thing to have .....no worries at all.

Only if you are very squeamish about blood/needles. The first time I did it, I did get a little light headed, but they brought me some orange juice and cookies. I was fine and drove home 10 minutes later. There is nothing to worry about safety wise, you can't catch a disease from donating blood.

All equipment for blood donations is sterile and is immediately disposed of after use. The nurses are trained for it. The only thing that really is of concern is if the nurse has trouble locating the vein in your arm, you might end up with some bruising and soreness for a few days.

No nothing to worry about just as long as you are not under weight and your iron is high enough there wont be a problem. They are very nice people and will make to feel very relaxed. It does not hurt and think of the good that you are doing.

There is nothing to worry about as long as you are dealing with a reputable doctor, clinic, blood drive or thru the Red Cross
