To Hindus: Namaste, what is the symbolism of celebrating Thaipusam?
Diwali is the festival of lights, what is Thaipusam?
Beba, thank you for your comments to something I did not ask. I don't know what nation you are from, but say you have to go to a country and meet their king or queen, would you bow to their king? Would Allah send a rain of Fire & Punishment to you?
You sure think VERY LITTLE of Allah, if you think HE the almighty, all compassionate one...can't tell the difference between a respectful greeting and idol worshipping. Don't bring the Supreme One down to YOUR level, you should learn to uplift yourself to HIS!
Namaste is a sign of respect for others, it does not mean you have to kiss the feet of another... maybe that is why so many muslims are badly misunderstood because of a few people who take words too literally and instead of spreading peace which is what is being told by 100s of Imams around the world, these "selected few" sow seeds of violence, aggression & trouble into the hearts of others... I dont believe the prophet Mohammed or any prophets ever did that, why do these select few
Sorry Yeah Man... I dont read arabic or jawi, so i have no idea whats been printed

Thaipusam is mostly celebrated by Tamilians (people from Tamil Nadu)Thai is the month when they harvest the crops. Thai Pusam is celebrated to thank God for the harvest. They celebrate it by making Pongal (sweet dish made out of rice, which is the staple food of the Indians and jaggery and grated coconut.) They also thank and celebrate the cows as they helped in farming.

First off all do U know the meaning of Nanaste. It means my forehead on your feet. We muslim only prostrate ALLAH the Almighty. If we prostrate anyone other than ALLAH the reward for that is Hell-fire, a sin which Allah will never forgive. Whenever a child is born, is born as muslim, the parents and the society teach them what they pracitse.
