Installing Apache HTTPd 2.2 correctly on a remote disk?

I have already tried installing it to the remote disk - in this case Z:/ - but the Apache service will not start because it is expecting a file called httpd.exe to exist at a location on my hard drive. Therefore, the Apache server is useless.

Could I copy the httpd.exe file to the directory that the service is expecting to find it at, and still keep a copy on Z:/?

Thanks in advance

httpd.exe is the file that tells the server where to look for all of the rest of the program files, as well as anything you are sending out via the server. You may need to run a shell server off of C; to start the Apache as a service, then have it go to the Z: drive to pull the perinent files. I have an Apache install section at my site below under Server Talk Hope this helps
