"Special" rings?

My boyfriend gave me a ring with a sapphire and diamonds for Valentine's Day last year and I wear it every day. It is pretty much something for me to wear while I wait for my engagement ring. ;)

Girls like it because it is a sign of commitment.

just an ingenious invention of the jewelry company, pay it no mind. Maybe if we band together against these unnessessary trinkets, we'll have more money to actually enjoy rather than use it to buy pieces of stone and metal that will end up sitting in a box on top of the dresser for years without being worn often.

i like the idea of them,its like a different form of committment. It's almost as if the two of you are honoring a promise...without the marriage papers.
