Chancroid is a painful ulcer caused by a gram-negative bacteria, Haemophilus ducreyi. Caused by sexual contact, treated with a Cephalosporin Antibiotic, namely Ceftriaxone (Rocephin). It's not as common as gonorrhea but will probably leave a permanent scar. It is also not a sign of HIV, but if you are able to get an STD, you should probably be checked for HIV since both are STDs and your open sore does increase the risk of transmission.
