Would you consider surgery for weight loss?

Would you go for Gastric Bypass or Laparoscopic Gastric Banding (Lap Band)?

First I want to say to all that say just exercise and eat right if it were that easy lets see I think we would have already done that. We are all over weight for different reasons and we need help my help came from the lap band I didn't have to tear my stomach up and reroute my whole inside I simply got an adjustable band put around my stomach depending on how much restriction I need I can have a saline solution put in a port just under the skin I am never hungry it helps me change the way I eat and drink I am so much healthier I wouldn't trade my band for nothing and if I get sick and need all my nutrition back just a poke of a needle and bamm I'm back to normal. Lets see 1 in every 400 die from bypass and the lap band is about the safest surgery you can have I think you know my answerer!!! I wish you luck in your search do lots of research know what your doing to your body before you do it!!!!!!!

If i was really over-weight i might take the chance if my health was very bad & i needed it to help my health but it sounds a little dangerous to me. It is a very serious decision for a person to make because it is dangerous.

~Gastric banding as an alternative to other weight loss surgeries

Lower mortality rate, only 1 in 2000 versus 1 in 200 for Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery

Fully reversible, stomach returns to normal if the band is removed

No cutting or stapling of the stomach

    Short hospital stay

    Quick recovery

    Adjustable without additional surgery

No malabsorption issues (because no intestines are bypassed)

Fewer life threatening complications (see complications table for details) ~

Weight loss surgery-like gastric bypass /lap band surgery / stomach stapling and gastrectomy have become very common and very safe now. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges Obesity surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Fly2india4health Consultants. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. I have also read that they arrange financing for international patients, as all surgery is not covered by insurance or by the stinking NHS.

They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor I personally believe that your surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of Healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

My cousin got her Obesity surgery done there and she is more than very happy with the results. She is all praise for Fly2india4health Consultants. She paid just 20% of the cost what she was quoted in USA and it was like a wonderful vacation for her. Hope this helps

NO NO I would see a NLP or Hypnotherapists learn visualization .

All problems are created by 3 things 1 emotions 2 vows 3 beliefs

for instance try this weighing your self., find out how much you weigh then every morning visualize 2 pounds lighter after one week get on the scale again see the loss..If no loss try NLP etc

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

What? when all a person has to do is eat right and ride a stationary bike in front of the TV for an hour a day, that's crazy.a person being so lazy they want surgery?who ever wants something like that should be locked way for having a terrible mental illness.I was manager of a health spa, and instructor also for years, eat right, ride the bike, simple.

Definitely not gastric bypass or a lap band..but maybe Lipo if it was necessary.

Well I wouldn't have it personally but...

Lap band is the best option in the short term, however GB is better in the long run.

Will power is the best remedy, IT may take some time, but remember surgery is not reversible! You really should try a weight loss program.
