Why is it that when people are confused they prefer to insult?

Asked a question to see what people thought about manogamy. Suggested that manogamy is dumb as we are all animals.

One person said we are not animals. One said they are sitting there wonderring why anyone would ask such a dumb question..lol

most questions are dumb to someone. but I kinda thought the idea was to answer the question?

did you check the category you asked it in? there are 'regulars' in most categories. if you post a question there, they will think it's directed at them, and most of them are sensitive.

There is no such thing as a stupid question only stupid answers! Some people go on the defencive as soon as they don't know or understand a subject and think that an insult will take the attention away from their ignorance. As for monogamy--it is an unnatural thing. One theory on this is that man is no different than the animal kingdom and for the species to survive the strongest male must spread their genes around and the female is always looking for the best provider.Survival of the fittest so to speak. But with so much disease out there a one night stand could kill you and then spread to your partner. So finding one person to spend your life with is the safest and smartest way to keep your genes strong.

I suspect that insults are preferential to asking questions when something isn't understood because asking for information is exhibiting a lack of knowledge. The majority of insults arise from the preference, in my experience, that some people have to NOT be seen as 'simple' or unknowing. 'Tis better to be known as a "smartass" than to be known as a "dumbass", even though the title identifies a person as an "***", intelligence notwithstanding.

    Funny, isn't it?
